Want to know how one way to spend a day in downtown Fernandina Beach?
Start your day with coffee, of course. AMELIA ISLAND COFEE has some creative latte choices, and we like ours in a mug.
Walk to the Fernandina Beach marina for some water views and to see the boats. We like to check out their names and see where they are from.
Do a little shopping, whether you need a cute outfit at Pearl or Twisted Sisters!, or the man in your life needs something new from JJ Cooper.
We like spices from The Spice & Tea Exchange, particularly the 'Florida Sunshine.' We love a bookstore, and The Book Loft in is one of the best for both national titles and Fernandina Beach favorites.
Grab a table outside for lunch at Timotis. We recommend the fried shrimp or any of their fresh local seafood.
Take an afternoon cruise with Amelia River Cruises and Charters. They are at the end of Centre Street right in downtown Fernandina Beach. You'll learn a little history, see some horses off Cumberland Island, and maybe see a dolphin.
Want some live music? Park yourself at the outdoor side of the bar at The Boat House for a cocktail and a lovely setting.
End your day with a Mexican dinner at Mezcal. The setting is lively, and the food is fresh and delicious, and we like the seafood entrees.
This little beach town is one of our favorites. We like the shopping and the restaurants, but most of all, it's charming and right on the Amelia River.
