Don’t waste your money on fancy Mexican food when you can get Mexican street food at Tacos El Pariente. Tacos El Pariente is a food truck set up with a lovely patio and a permanent location. And the food is more authentic than any restaurant in town.

Tacos El Pariente is on Clements Ferry Road in Daniel Island.
This family-run food truck has a nice setup, a makeshift covered patio with fresh potted plants, outside tables, and a cute picket fence. This lovely outdoor setting makes Tacos El Pariente an excellent spot for a quick lunch or an easy dinner.

But oh, the food at Tacos El Pariente … start with chips, guacamole, or queso, which is my personal favorite! The servings are generous and the chips are fresh. You will also find a few Mexican bottled drinks options, as well as bottled water. My favorite is the Mexican Coke or the Horchata juice.
For your meal, choose from tacos, tortas, burritos, or a variety of other items on the menu. They have a great selection of meats, all cooked perfectly. The choices include everything from shrimp to carnitas to good old ground beef. I like the birria and the carne asada. Tacos El Pariente also offers vegetarian options with cheese or mushrooms.

We tried a variety of tacos, all priced affordably. They are small but mighty! The ingredients are simple, traditional, and fresh. The sauces are fresh, flavorful, and have a bit of heat to them.

If you are really hungry, try the nachos at Tacos El Pariente and add pork for a hearty dish. The serving size was huge, and the chips were homemade, fresh, and delicious! We even took some home and ate them for lunch the next day.

Next time you crave Mexican food in a laid-back outdoor setting, give Tacos El Pariente a try. It's fun, festive, and authentic.
