A View from the Daniel Island Treehouse

If you need a moment of peace and connection with nature, the Daniel Island Treehouse is one of my favorite finds. It is tucked in the live oaks and I almost walked right by it, because the thatched roof blended in with the landscape.

The treehouse has two stories, and if you don’t mind climbing the ladder-style stairs, the views from the top are spectacular, especially at sunset.

From the Daniel Island Treehouse, you can see the port across the water and hear the cargo ships being loaded.

The Daniel Island Treehouse is located at the end of Wando Landing Street, where the trail meets the river. When you drive up to the park, you’ll see a sign with a little history about Daniel Island which was a farming community called ‘Daniel Island Truck Farms.’

On a quiet afternoon close to sunset, the views of water and Spanish moss felt like something out of a childhood memory, although I didn’t even grow up on the coast.

While you are at the Daniel Island Treehouse, explore the nearby trails. The trail loops through the Treehouse Spur. It winds through shady areas and views of the marsh. There are over a mile of paths under the live oaks, which is perfect for a morning walk or a bike ride.
