How to Spend a Day in Daniel Island like a tourist
Have you heard about Daniel Island but never been there? Yes, it’s a planned community and a beautiful residential area with Southern architecture featuring expansive front porches and palm trees. It may be a quiet little island, but there is plenty to do there. Here's how to spend a day in Daniel Island like a tourist.

What is the most fun way to get there if you want to spend a day in Daniel Island?
Take a ferry from Waterfront Park in Charleston. The ferry runs between Daniel Island and Waterfront Park in Charleston. They also offer sunset or ‘sunshine’ harbor cruises if you prefer to drive there.

You’ll arrive right at the pier at Daniel Island Waterfront Park. Start by taking a walk around the waterfront. If you are with your kids, they also have a great playground. The kiddos can run around, and you can sit on a swing and look at the gorgeous water views. There are also two piers you can walk out on to look at the boats. Continue your walk along the trail that runs alongside the marsh. Water views and marsh views both!

Have lunch outside at The Dime.
The Dime is a local gourmet market and restaurant near Daniel Island’s waterfront. The interior is nice, but the brick patio, which features a fireplace, makes for a lovely spot to dine on a cool day. Or, order one of their special froses and sit outside if it’s warm out. Try one of their salads, sandwiches, or unique pizzas. I’d recommend the fig and prosciutto.

After lunch, visit the shops and galleries along Seven Farms Drive. My favorite is the Joyful Florist, where you can buy fresh-cut flowers and candles. The place smells heavenly.
I also like Paisley, and Myer Vogl is always a stop for me, as they have rotating exhibitions, so there’s always something different to see.

Cocktails with a View at Kingstide
Have a cocktail and an appetizer at The Kingstide. Go up to the top porch for gorgeous views.
You’ll likely need to buy tickets ahead of time, but there are lots of nighttime concerts at the Credit One Stadium. It’s one of our favorite venues because it’s small, and there is not a bad seat in the house.

Eat dinner at one of the food trucks surrounding the stadium before the concert.
If you’re visiting in the spring, be sure to check out the schedule for the Charleston Open, an annual tennis tournament that’s always festive and fun. In addition to world-class women’s tennis, there are many outside vendors, shopping, eating, and drinking, of course!
