Spend A Day in Sullivan's Island Like a Local
Want to spend a day in Sullivan's Island and feel like a local? Sullivan's Island has some good restaurants that are popular with the tourists, but most of the locals hit those in the off-season. Here's how I would spend the day in Sullivan's Island:

Best Deal in Town!
Start with brunch and the best deal in town: $1 coffee at the Co-op Frose and Eatery. Their frose is popular with the tourists, but try one of their breakfast sandwiches. They offer a delicious ricotta toast, and I also like the avocado toast topped with eggs, sunny-side up. The food is fresh, and the restaurant has a fun setting with pink decor and cool wall murals.

Do a little light shopping at A Maker’s Post in Sullivan's Island
Maker's Post has a lovely curated collection of artisan goods, gifts, coffee table books, and plants. You’ll find something unique and beautiful there. They are inspired by the love of things made by hand - so you know I like that. They have gorgeous bouquets on Valentine’s Day too!

Walk over to Beachkrew for a casual t-shirt or hat. Their founder was in college at the University of Delaware during the pandemic. She began making hats in her basement at her childhood home in New Jersey and in her college bedroom. She has expanded her business and now has two store locations. Don't you love her story?
This Sullivan's Island shop offers timeless, casual classics inspired by the East Coast. I also like the décor - fresh and coastal.

Head out to the beach!
Walk out on Sullivan’s Island Station 12 near Fort Moultrie. It is super-quiet and has views of downtown Charleston and the Ravenel Bridge. You can’t swim here because of the currents, but the views are spectacular. It’s an excellent place for a beach walk because the view differs from other accesses on Sullivan's Island and is a little wild and untamed.
After your walk, settle in your beach chair and enjoy the views. You might see a cargo ship glide by, which is pretty cool to watch. How do those things float?

Enjoy dinner at Sullivan’s Fresh Seafood and Bar (formerly Sullivan’s Fish Camp). Sit at the bar or the community table, and you’ll make new friends, both tourists and locals from Sullivan's Island. Have some of their local fried shrimp and sooooo…lightly battered. Their cocktail sauce is the bomb! Or try the lobster roll sliders with a side of rosemary fries.

Gelato and the Sunset
If you aren’t too full, go to Beardcat’s Sweetshop for gelato and then take a walk over to the kayak launch on Sullivan's Island to watch the sunset. Don’t you just love that orange glow over the marsh?
