Sullivan's Island Beach Access Reviews

Want to know where to go to the beach on Sullivan’s Island?

I checked out many Sullivan's Island beach accesses when I moved to Charleston. Tough job, right? Here are my beach access reviews:

Station 12

Sullivan's Island beach access at Station 12 is near Fort Moultrie. I like it because it is super quiet and has views of downtown and the Ravenel Bridge. You can't swim here because of the currents, but that's ok if you are just interested in a beach walk. The view is different than other accesses and a little wild and untamed.

I'd come here to read or write because it is so peaceful. I wouldn't recommend it for a summer beach day because you can't get in the water, but it's an excellent place for a quick walk or some alone time.

Like most of Sullivan’s Island beach accesses, there isn’t much parking, but the beach is nice and wide. From the beach, you have nice views of Fort Sumter and Charleston Harbor, which is beautiful.

You have to see the huge tide pool at the Sullivan's Island beach access at Station 28 ½.

It's right near the spaceship house, which is also a must-see. There's not much beach right now because the tide pool is so big, but overall, the beach is nice and wide. It's a short walk and a great place to bring your dog to run!

There is one caveat - recently, an alligator was removed from the tide pool, but I'm sure it's fine now…

Rating: 6.4, only because of the alligator.

Station 32

You’ve got to see the Sullivan's Island beach access Station 32 if like me, you love the coast of the Pacific. It’s actually one of my favorite beach accesses on Sullivan's Island.

I’ve spent a little time in California over the years and love that craggy, magnificent coast.  This beach access reminds me of the Pacific coast because there is a rock inset, and you walk down a little hill to get to the protected beach, which is like a little cove. It’s small and narrow and feels like a private beach. There are pretty views of the Isle of Palms, too.

This Sullivan's Island beach access should be a secret because that’s how it feels. I love it, so I kind of hate sharing it, but how can I not?
