BARTACO CHARLESTON

Bartaco Charleston

I consider myself a bit of a taco expert, so I was happy to discover the new Bartaco on King Street in downtown Charleston. I've been to other Bartacos in Raleigh and Atlanta and could not wait to try our own!

The Bartaco Charleston is right on King street and has a relaxed vibe and a fresh coastal cantina décor.

Start your dining experience with a house margarita or the one with green juice for a healthy twist. I mean, it's got 'green juice' in the title, so it's gotta be good for you, right?

I recommend the guac + roja + verde + chips. The 'chips' come as whole tortillas. They seem fresher when you break them to eat. Why? I'm not sure, but it's definitely more fun!

A few other recommendations from the Bartaco Charleston menu:

Glazed pork belly taco

Duck birria

Tuna tatako – but I like it in a corn tortilla instead of the lettuce wrap, because I do like my carbs. Just saying.

Esquitas – make sure you order the one OFF the cob for sharing

Kimchi salad – pretty good, but could use more kimchi, in my opnion.

I also like that Bartaco focuses on being more sustainable has has partnerships with Open Water and Greenplaces.

They also give back to the community by partnering with various organizations chosen by their local team members. Many of them focus on childen and hunger, which is dear to my heart.   #givingtaco
