Community Table: A Gathering Place
Walk into Community Table and you'll feel like you are in the home of a friend. Whether seated on the porch, in the glass sunroom decorated with string lights, or in the main dining room, it feels like home. This is probably why they call it a 'gathering place.'

The decor at Community Table is warm and inviting, and the pine tables remind me of a bistro in the California wine country, which is probably why I like it.
But let's talk about the food.
Community Table offers a more diverse menu than you might expect, with nods to Asian cuisine, fresh seafood, and traditional Southern dishes. They use locally sourced ingredients, making for flavorful dishes. They also change their food and drink menu seasonally, which I love. Nothing says fall like an autumn salad with pumpkin seeds and asian pears. Or an 'Aper-fall' Spritz made with apple juice. Even if it is 80 degrees in South Carolina.

I rarely order chicken when I'm out because it's something I can make at home, (unless it's fried like my mom used to make),
. Community Table's Chicken Paillard is an exception. One of my friends ordered it at dinner, and it became my new favorite. It's a thinly breaded tenderloin with a Parmesan, lemon, and parsley flavor. At dinner, it's served on a bed of arugula, crispy potatoes, and oven-dried tomatoes. The lunchtime portion is on a brioche roll and served with fries or a salad.

Or try the French Fry Caesar, which is an interesting take on a salad. Add the chicken for extra protein and a nice herb flavor.
Tuesday nights are burger nights. The Community Table Smash Burgers and fresh shoestring fries are $12.
Community Table has a Happy Hour too!
Community Table also offers happy hour from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. It's a little early, but that is typical for Mount Pleasant. The drinks are half price and they have a happy hour food menu. Try the Parmesan truffle fries, the honey garlic wings, or the house-made ricotta toast.
My only complaint about Community Table is that the service is slow. I've been there for both lunch and dinner and had the same experience at both. I don't usually mind waiting, but something was off, either with the kitchen or the wait staff. Hopefully, they will address that issue as the menu is creative and the atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming.

Community Table feels like a genuine neighborhood spot to meet friends, family, and enjoy a warm, cozy environment. And the food is good too.
