Petit Merci feels like a little Paris market.

Petit Merci is a small French market located in Harleston Village, just off the busier parts of downtown Charleston. It’s next door to the restaurant Merci. Take a walk around the neighborhood and stop in to the market. You’ll feel like you're in Paris.

Petit Merci is connected to the restaurant Merci next door, but Petit Merci focuses on everyday French-inspired foods you can grab quickly or take home. They have a rotating list of prepared soups and take-and-bake items made in-house by the chefs at Merci. They also sell produce, cheeses, and meats. They also offer fresh breads and pastries. Try the sourdough coffeecake muffins or one of their homemade oversized cookies, or whatever is on the menu. It’s all good.

Grab a coffee while you are browsing. The coffee bar features a creative rotating list of seasonal coffee specials. When we were there, they offered a Le Fluffernut, a latte with peanut butter and marshmallow, and a peach matcha latte.

In addition to the fresh take-home food items, Petit Merci offers a selection of gift items, such as candles, books, and wine, all with a European flair and nicely curated. Be sure to grab a bottle of wine too!

Petit Merci feels fresh, upscale, and like a mini Parisian vacation right in Charleston.
