Seafood and a waterfront setting at Isle of Palms? Sign us up.
The Outpost Isle of Palm's Marina is the store and deli at the Isle of Palms Marina. It sells food, drink, bait, and tackle. But we don’t want to tell you about the bait and tackle. Just go have lunch there, whether you are headed out on a boat or just want to enjoy views of the water and a delicious menu.
The breakfasts at the Outpost Isle of Palms Marina's are popular with tourists. They offer specialty coffees, classic breakfast sandwiches, wraps, avocado toast, and an Intracoastal breakfast. However, we enjoy having lunch there as they offer a rotating daily special, usually seafood, in addition to their regular menu.

What’s better than fresh seafood at a marina with views of boats, palm trees, and the Intracoastal? Seriously? We might go to The Outpost Isle of Palms Marina even if the food wasn’t good. But actually, it’s excellent, so that’s a bonus. It’s not inexpensive, as they add a service charge for both a credit card and their staff. However, we remind ourselves that we are paying for those gorgeous views.

Order at the counter inside the store at The Outpost Isle of Palms Marina, and take a buzzer to one of the picnic tables under an umbrella outside on the deck. Or check out some of their cute merch inside the store while you wait for your food. When it’s ready, pick it up at the outside window.

If soft-shell crab is in season, order that. It’s only around for a short time, and theirs is served on buttered toast with lettuce and tomato. Most of the meals at The Outpost Isle of Palms Marina come with a choice of one side, so we always opt for the tomato and cucumber salad. That said, the seasoning on their island fries is a game-changer if you aren’t watching calories.
The tacos are yummy, and you get three to an order, so you'll get plenty to eat.

Fresh Seafood at The Outpost Isle of Palms Marina
The IOP shrimp roll is served on a buttery split-top bun and has a delicious fresh dill taste, not at all mayonnaise. The fried flounder sandwich is fresh and served on a brioche roll with tartar sauce, lettuce, and tomato.
We've only had seafood there because, well, we're at a marina.

Try a bottle of homemade frose if you don't have to go back to work after lunch!
But our friends have tried the chicken avocado club and the buffalo wrap. We tried them both, and they were good, too. If you are traveling with your kids, the Outpost Isle of Palms Marina has a small children’s menu that includes grilled cheese, chicken tenders, and a burger. Just don’t let the kids feed the birds!
Next time you are in Isle of Palms, stop and have lunch at The Outpost Isle of Palms Marina, even if you aren’t headed out on a boat. Or better yet, rent a boat and have lunch first!
