The lobby at The Sweetgrass Inn smells like sea salt.
When you walk in the door, you can tell there is a spa at The Sweetgrass Inn at Wild Dunes because the lobby smells like sea salt and takes my blood pressure down a notch!

You know I love a fancy hotel lobby. When we traveled with my in-laws, my mother-in-law would hunt them down and we would drag everyone else in for a drink. She introduced me to the Kir Royale, and I still occasionally have one for her.
However, it wasn't about the cocktail. We both loved architecture and design, so we were there to check out the pretty setting.

I’ve enjoyed hotel lobbies ever since, and this one is lovely.
The Sweetgrass Inn at Wild Dunes is decorated in sophisticated, understated French blue with rattan accents and dripping casual coastal chandeliers.
Be sure and walk around the lobby to see the rotating art provided by The Gallery at Sweetgrass. You might even find some of mine!

Grab at Cocktail at the Oystercatcher bar at The Sweetgrass Inn.
The Oystercatcher Bar and Restaurant is in the lobby at The Sweetgrass Inn. It has one of the best shareable and small plate menus around, which rotates seasonally. The food is both inventive and delicious.
The Oystercatcher Bar is setup with an oversized bar where you can gather on three sides. It's a great spot to socialize with other vacationers or enjoy a drink and an appetizer with your friends and family.

Head to the outdoor patio and sit in the orange Adirondack chairs on the swinging rattan chairs. The Laughing Gull bar is right outside The Sweetgrass Inn, and on a nice day, it is perfect for dining or drinking poolside.
Tacos and Tequila is a vintage Airstream food truck that serves street tacos and tequila drinks, of course. It’s only open seasonally, but I occasionally like to stop in for a margarita.
The Nest Rooftop is upstairs at The Sweetgrass Inn and offers stunning views of the ocean, along with charcuterie boards, antipasto, and cocktails.
I talk about food a lot, but I also enjoy the fire pits, rocking chairs, and the active yet relaxing environment here at the Sweetgrass Inn.
