Want a spectacular view of the city, the water, and the Ravenel Bridge?

Meet your friends at the Pavilion Bar.
The Pavilion Bar is located at the top of the Market Pavilion hotel on East Bay Street. It's the best place to watch the boats sail by and see Charleston’s beautiful rooftops.
Sip on one of their signature cocktails or a glass of champagne. My choice is the 'Dirty Bird.' You guessed it, Grey Goose with Roquefort Blue Cheese Olives.
The food at the Pavilion Bar is also good, but it's a little pricey. Try the smoked fish dip made with goat cheese and served with flour tortillas. Another nice seafood option is the tuna tower, made with ahi tuna, lump crabmeat, and avocado.
If you prefer a non-seafood item, get the spanakopita flatbread and one of their salads.

We’ve been coming to Charleston since I was a grad student at Carolina in my twenties.
The Market Pavilion Hotel wasn't open yet when I was in school, but we discovered it a few years later, and it feels like it’s been there forever.
We felt so sophisticated, sipping our cocktails and enjoying the views at the Pavilion Bar, and I have to admit, I still do! You’ll love the classic and elegant vibe, and the views are spectacular.
The Pavilion Bar has been our go-to for a fancy cocktail ever since. It should be yours too!

I love a beautiful setting, and this one is not to be missed! The Pavilion Bar exudes an old Hollywood charm with its checkered floor, potted plants, and wrought-iron tables with umbrellas. The terry cloth pool chairs draped with yellow and white striped pool towels create a unique and elegant ambiance.
Makes me want to drink a dirty martini.

The Pavilion Bar offers views of the city from two directions, making any table a lovely spot. I love seeing the church steeples above the buildings across town, and you can beat the sunset views. You can see the Ravenel Bridge in the other direction and views of the Charleston Harbor.
Be sure to take lots of pictures while at the Pavilion Bar, especially at sunset. Although mine were better before they put up the plexiglass walls along the sides of the bar. I'm not sure if they're for safety or the wind, but they aren't particularly attractive. However, they do block the wind, and you can still see the view.
