Want a casual lunch on John’s Island near Kiawah and Seabrook?
Stop at The Station in Freshfields Village for a traditional breakfast or a lunchtime sandwich. The Station is a gourmet deli that resembles an old gas station convenience store. The Station is located near the Freshfields Village shopping district, and there is plenty of parking, an actual gas station, and a car wash.

The Station makes a good lunch on the way to the beach.
You can get a made-to-order lunch or pick up one of their Grab-N-Go offerings, which they make daily. The menu has all the breakfast classics plus favorites like corned beef Reubens, club sandwiches, chicken fingers, and French fries.
Don’t miss The Station cheeseburger—it’s a local favorite. The club panini with peppercorn dipping sauce was also good. But my favorite is the fried buttermilk chicken sandwich. Be sure to try the Craft Lowcountry Bloody Mary chips, too.

The Station always has fresh coffee, fountain sodas, snacks, and a solid selection of beer and wine on hand.

The vibe at The Station isn’t fancy, and you grab your food at the counter, but it’s excellent quality and has a nice outdoor patio to hang out on.
Be sure to get some old-fashioned candy on the way out.
