Saint Urban's is a Great Neighborhood Spot

You’ve got to try a Tuesday night at Saint Urban’s! You can enjoy a nice glass of wine and a French bread pizza that tastes nothing like what we grew up eating as an after-school snack. Didn’t it always burn the roof of your mouth, by the way?

Saint Urban’s is a cozy, candlelit European-inspired wine bar. They feature great cheeses and Italian meats straight from the source. I love their selection of wines, but they also serve great cocktails.

But let’s get back to that French bread pizza that is only served on Tuesdays at Saint Urban's. They offer three selections: pepperoni, vegetable, or a combo of both.

Saint Urban’s uses a mix of several cheeses, and the cheese reminds me of the Provel cheese on a St. Louis-style pizza, but probably much better quality. The pepperoni might be the best I’ve eaten outside of Italy. I love that they layer the pizza with lots and lots of whole basil leaves. Such a great touch. I usually like a salad with my pizza. Still, Saint Urban’s focuses on keeping it simple and providing only pizza on Tuesday night, which makes sense.

I enjoyed a couple of different glasses of their French red wines, but I’m sure any on the menu is fabulous because that’s what they do best.

The food at Saint Urban's is excellent, but the ambiance is also really special. It’s small, dark, and cozy. I enjoyed the candlelit setting on a cold winter night, but the sidewalk patio is lovely in the spring.

The staff here at Saint Urban's is welcoming and helpful. It feels like a true neighborhood joint. I only wish I lived around the corner.
