Wild Olive Cucina is an Italian Place
Want to feel like you're in a little restaurant in the heart of Tuscany? Wild Olive Cucina Italiana on Johns Island might be the best Italian restaurant in Charleston. This lovely restaurant is known for simple Italian seasonal cuisine and homemade pasta. I mean, who doesn't love homemade pasta? And you can't get it just anywhere.

The staff is helpful and friendly, which is always refreshing. The setting is so warm and inviting that it feels like a family-owned place in the heart of Italy. The large bar area is lively and vibrant, with two different dining rooms. We sat on the enclosed porch next to the windows, which was lovely. Wild Olive Cucina Italiana is always a good choice, but it felt especially cozy on a cool Sunday night. They consider themselves not just farm-to-table but table-to-farm, meaning that most of their ingredients are locally sourced, and they compost 85% of their waste, which is pretty cool.

We like their nice selection of 'food-friendly' wines at various price points. We can't really eat Italian food without a glass of vino. Wild Olive Cucina Italiana offers a nice selection of Italian wines, which, of course, we tried.

We started with the charred octopus and a Caesar salad (with anchovies). Both were delicious.

For dinner, we had the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese and the Chicken Parm, which was also delicious. Yes, I tried it, too. Wild Olive Cucina Italiana also has an extensive seafood selection, which we will have next time. We left too full for dessert and had enough leftovers to take home.
Which is rare for us, because we like to eat.
